Today, New York State Department of Health announced that the pollen carrier responsible for the large-scale allergic reactions it has been experiencing has finally been identified.
The agency released an updated list of granulomatous polysaccharides that cause the widespread signs and symptoms which may include: rashes, painful sinus infections, swelling of eyelids, bleeding, palpitations, shortness of breath, wheezing, shaking, flushed skin, nausea, vomiting, eye puddles, sneezing, swollen or bruised lips and cheeks, and eye redness.
New York State Department of Health officials determined that the latest top three contributor to the “tropical index” of pollen to impact its fall allergy season are:
